Shelter and Transitional Housing Materials
You will find materials as they are developed for supporting the work of creating and operating shelters, safe homes and transitional housing programs.
Red Wind will provide training on how to develop victim-centered and culturally appropriate shelters, safe homes, and transitional housing programs:
  • An annual training held in partnership with the Economic Recovery Act TA providers, focused on the development of policies and procedures for shelters, safe homes and transitional housing for Native women.
  • Semi-annual webinars as supplementary training on developing policies and procedures.
  • Podcasts available for download or listening direct from the internet on www.red-wind.net.
Red Wind will provide intensive technical assistance to build the capacity of Tribes in the development and implementation of their shelter, safe- home or transitional housing policies and procedures:
  • On-site work sessions to assist with intensive on-site long-term planning to help them move their policy and procedure development work forward within the context of their local indigenous identity. These onsite sessions will be accessed through our American Indian Resource Center. More details will be posted and accessible here as they develop.

Red Wind will develop a Shelter and Transitional Housing Program Policy Manual for tribal programs.
